Sally Thorne has been on my auto-buy list since I borrowed her debut, The Hating Game from the library. I re-read it and checked it out three times before finally buying my own copy. Her second novel was just as fresh and witty. Her third book, Second First Impressions, might be my new favorite of hers yet.
I devoured this book in one day. Nobody does witty banter and dialogue like Sally. Her characters are laugh-out-loud funny right from the opening pages. I adored everyone in the book. Ruthie and her anxieties and stress in social situations and facing the outside world were so relatable to me.
Teddy and Ruthie’s relationship had me hooked from the start. This is the perfect romance for our 2021 times. It was joyous escapism from start to finish for me. Really, I can’t gush about this book enough. I will definitely be reading it again.
